The holiday’s come with some major distractions not only personally but professionally. Most people have their schedules packed with holiday travel, office parties, friends’ get-togethers and not to mention the financial burden can also add to the stress. Here we have put together some tips on helping stay productive during the holidays.
Have fewer meetings
Unless there is a major development or a big project that is due or coming up, limit your meetings. While meetings are great and can be productive if there are major announcements happening, everything seems to be on a much bigger time crunch during the holiday’s so if it can wait until after the first of the year, then wait. This allows people to finish up their year-end projects without being easily distracted by a meeting especially if it’s something that could have been told in an email, or simply just waited until after the holiday season.
Limit your to-do list
Especially if you have a couple of LARGE projects that you must get wrapped up before the end of the year. Cut down your normal 5-6 things on your daily to-do list to 3 or 4 that way you have plenty of time to work on projects.
Knock out a full-day project. If you limit your to-do list, or even take an entire day to knock out one of your large projects that will help keep your stress levels down.
Come back a little early from lunch
If you have way too many tasks that need to be completed, come back 10 or even 5 minutes early from lunch every day. If you bring your lunch to the office that limits having to drive somewhere to get something to eat and saves you some time. Besides if you think about it, if you have an hour lunch break every day, coming back just 5 minutes every day is an extra 25 minutes of work that you can put towards completing your projects!
